The Town of Cary will ban outdoor irrigation system watering, effective November 1st,2007.
The town’s announcement comes just days after Gov. Mike Easley addressed the N.C. League of Municipalities, calling on them to lead even more conservation efforts in their respective communities. Up until today, the Town of Cary has stood behind their year-round water restrictions…saying that they work. Many area cities and towns have already restricted or banned outdoor watering. I’m curious to know if you agree with the Town of Cary’s decision, today?
I think it is concerning that despite the fact that our Governor has informed us about the seriousness of the drought…there are some communities who are still allowing their residents to water their lawns once or twice a week. I’m even more concerned that that we’ve been hearing from many of you about concerns that your home owners associations (HOA’s) are still requiring your grass to be green.
I think we should have one restriction regardless of your county, city or town.
That’s what I think. Let me know what you think…post a comment in the comments section and let me hear it!

Just moments ago, Superior Court Judge Howard Manning, Jr. ruled year-round schedules for schools must be voluntary, in Wake County.
Today’s announcement is a victory for the group, Wake Cares, an advocacy group who fought the school board on mandatory year-round schedules.
This story has generated debate, frustration and emotion from the very beginning. There is even an online petition that was started as a grass-roots effort to drum up support for the fight against mandatory year-round schedules.
This is a story we broke on our website, NBC17.com. I encourage you to join us at 6pm and 7pm for both sides on this story.

Are you a parent who has been forced to put your kids on a year-round calendar? Do you have children impacted by today’s announcement?
