Happy Mother’s Day

In the beginning, she held you before you could walk. She comforted you when you cried. She fed you when you were hungry but still unable to talk.

She held your hands as you went off to school for the very first time.  At the end of the day, she’d tuck you into bed like only mothers know how to do. She filled your lunchbox with goodies and picked out your clothes for the next day of school.

She watched as you matured, growing up so fast that sometimes she just took a step back and watched you for a few minutes. Before she knew it, she was at your high school graduation.

She is the one you leaned on when college was making you homesick. She continued to steer you down the appropriate paths, in life. She cherishes the visits home to see her and the holiday meals spent together, as a family.

At the end of every day, she’d rest her eyes for a few hours before getting up and doing it all over again. She did all of the things she did, for you.

Through the years, they have inspired, motivated, supported and instilled nothing but the best qualities in us. It is for all their sacrifices that this day is truly a day for them. For their hard work, dedication and undying love, this is a day to give back to our mother…for raising us into the people we are today.

How do you tell your mother thank you for so much? Can a simply present ever capture the true magnitude of your gratefulness? If you had to write your mother a letter for Mother’s Day, what would you say?

I welcome your thoughts and comments!
