Hidden Talents

In addition to being hardworking, driven and dedicated journalists many of our staff members have hidden talents that may surprise you. For example, not only is Ken Luallen a wonderful reporter, he is also a STELLAR photographer. I recently checked out his website and was amazed at how talented Ken is.

In addition to Sharon Tazewell being our vibrant and energetic female morning anchor, she is also an extremely talented actress. I had the pleasure of seeing Sharon in Raleigh Little Theatre’s production of Intimate Apparel last night, and was blown away! Sharon is one of the six amazing cast members that take you back to 1905 and tell a beautiful story about all things love. For several weeks, Sharon has been juggling work, family and rehearsals for this incredible production. I can honestly say all of the hard work paid off. If you like theatre, or if you like waking up with Sharon in the morning, go see her in this production, you’ll be glad you did. The SOLD OUT official opening is tonight, Friday September 7th. The show is running until Sunday September 23rd, and lasts about 2.5 hours. Get your tickets today, and see our Sharon Tazewell expose her hidden talent.

Thanks for your posting about Sharon’s performance in RLT’s production of “Intimate Apparel.“ Sharon is such a pleasure to work with. I truly hope that she will consider auditioning again for future shows at RLT and other local theatres. I LOVE working with her. The show is doing well. In fact, yesterday’s matinee was SOLD OUT!!!

Wow, such kind words!  Thank you so very much!  I am so honored to work with the many talented people at Raleigh Little Theatre.  “Intimate Apparel” wouldn’t be the phenominal production it has become without the input from crew and cast.  There is so much chemistry between the actors and I can honestly say I have made lifelong friends.

Linda O’Day Young is the amazing, talented director of this play.  Her patience and creativity has helped make words on a paper come to life through us…the actors.  Thank you Linda.  Opening night Linda met with all the actors before showtime and quoted Michelangelo, “I saw an Angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.“  She then told us, spread your wings and fly tonight.  Powerful words.  We’ve been soaring ever since.

I truly hope you make the time to support local theatre and come see this wonderful production “Intimate Apparel.“  It’ll make you laugh and it may make you cry.  A lot of heart was put into this production and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.  Thank you everyone for you support and encouragement.

Sharon’s life experiences and her journalism education at Kent State University have perfectly groomed her to be a journalist for such a time as this.

I try to visit theaters, but always something comes up. My friends are so angry with me.

I believe we are more than the inhabitants of our cubicles, more than engineers or even parents, husbands and wives. I believe we are transformed and connected by the power and beauty of our creativity.
